Back From Vacation and Back Into the Swing of Things

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Well, just wanted to say “Hello” since I’ve been away for 1 week up in cottage country in Ontario!

I had a very relaxing time “Up North”, spending most of my time on the beach and in the hot tub!

I’ll be back on it tomorrow with some great posting for the week! I’m looking forward to it!

Until next time…

The Value of an Identity Theft Protection Program for Your Good Name

Okay…Getting a little bit aggravated at credit card fraud and our bank accounts suspended because of suspicious activity after the fact!!!

Really…the bank should catch that, as well as the stores we shop in…that’s why we have photos on our debit/check cards, signatures on the back, etc. etc. etc.

Just this week, we had one of our accounts on hold…I wonder if the people that do these things are actually caught…

We’ve even had our credit card information hacked off of another website…Their entire system got hacked…They only charged about $15 from our account, but still…It’s a worry!

lifelock.gifI’ve been seeing a lot of information from lifelock reviews while “stumbling” around the net, and I think it’s worth looking into to protect your identity. Plus, I’ve seen that commercial where the CEO of the company puts his Social Security # on the side of a truck, and a reporter tries to open up accounts with it, and was unable to…Pretty brave, but, hey, it worked! That was impressive to me…

Lifelock says they’ll guarantee your identity up to $1,000,000.00. This includes people using your birth certificate, passport, driver’s license, social security #, credit cards, etc. etc. etc…That’s kind of comforting to me…We live on the internet, have our information all over the internet, and we are shopping more and more online!

Not to mention, offline…I had to clean up my credit report because someone had opened up an account for their cable under my name and didn’t pay it…Yeah…A lot of fun dealing with them! I can certainly see where the value of life lock would come into play.

We are certainly going to consider signing up with LifeLock, so I did a little bit of digging online for a discount…

LOL…Actually, on their blog, they have lifelock promo codes for your convenience. It looked to me like the best one to use was promotion code RD32 - It gives you 30 days free and an “exclusive discount”…

Currently LifeLock boasts that they are America’s #1 theft prevention program. We are probably going to do this ourselves! It’s getting necessary and annoying to deal with these “problems” on our credit and suspending of accounts. Not cool at all!

Just wanted to share this with you since I’ve been doing a little research…

The Virgin Media Scandal Would Affect ALL Internet Users

Not sure if you’ve heard about what’s going on with Virgin Media in the UK, but every internet user needs to hear what it’s all about. (I stumbled this information the other day.)

The Virgin Media Scandal would affect the internet and how we access it, as we know it…

Watch this video to find out more about it!

Whoa…that’s crazy…always suspected, but I didn’t know for certain…this is serious infringement on our rights…It completely changes the internet…Might just as well watch TV instead…

Please Send Me A Real Baby Announcement, Not Just An Email

Whatever happened to sending out Birth Announcements to your family and friends?

When someone in our family or one of our friends has a baby, and I’m putting my requests out now, I want a little photo and the basic information about the little boy or girl.

Maybe it’s just me…LOL…I didn’t think Baby Announcements were a thing of the past? I still like to receive mail…you know, not electronic email…that real paper and envelope-type mail. It’s special!

Okay, now that I have that little rant out of the way, I found a neat website, Doodlebug Designs, while I was “stumbling” today, and now….you have NO EXCUSE…

thebradleydoodlebugdesigns.jpgThey do some really cute stuff these days for baby, wedding and special occasion announcements. I thought the twins ideas were sooooo cute! When I have a baby, I’m going to have thee coolest announcements ever…I want to capture the beauty and sweetness of presenting a little baby to the world!

Photo left: The Bradley from Doodlebug Designs…Soooo cute!

So, if any of my friends or family happen to read this…send me a great announcement that I can keep and actually hold on to…LOL…

Introducing Amazon.com’s New “Kindle”

amazonkindle.jpgHave you seen the brand new Amazon Kindle? This product is a wireless reading device from Amazon.com called the “Kindle“.

At first glance, it looks like just another gadget you probably don’t need, but that would be really cool to walk around with…Almost looks like a PDA of sorts…

However, upon researching a little bit about it, it is pretty darn cool!

It’s a Wireless Reading Device…meaning you can purchase books, newspapers, magazines through this device and receive it right away…electronically, to save and keep in less than 1 minute! You can even download the first chapters and read them before you decide to buy a book…Pretty cool!

You can even get international newspapers, not just local or national. Plus, you get access to Wikipedia.org and more than 250 of the top blogs in genres like business, sports, entertainment, tech and politics…Wow!

The Kindle is lighter and thinner than a typical paperback novel, and it holds over 200 titles!

The Kindle is like an electronic book, as large as a book page, and looks and reads like real paper! Of course, it has a lot more bells and whistles though too! I think you can even do your email on it, upload photos, word docs, etc. Great idea!

It has been deemed the new wave of the future, and it has been said that the Kindle will be everywhere…with instant access…

Check out the new Kindle here:

* There is even a Kindle demonstration you can view by clicking on the product above…Really neat!

There are no monthly wireless bills, no contracts or service plans…It works like a cell phone, so you don’t need WiFi hotspots…

Anyway, I didn’t like the whole idea until I read about it…I am sold, and I wanted to share my new and interesting find with you!

Become a Sonography Technician…What’s That?

Well…a sonography technician can also be called an ultrasound technician…

Nowadays, you don’t just have to be a doctor or a nurse; there are so many other medical careers in the health industry.

sonographyschoolpost.JPGOkay, what does a sonography tech do?

Sonographs or ultrasounds use sound waves that create an image on a screen to assess various medical conditions…It’s what they use to see babies in the womb when women are pregnant, for example…

If a career in this area interests you, check out this really neat page/site I found while “stumbling” the net, Medical-Career-Training.com, specifically having information about sonography schools and other medical careers!

The health industry is always seeking new faces to assist in the ever growing population’s health conditions…I read on the site that the median salary for an ultrasound technician was about $48,000/year back in 2002…

Just wanted to share this place in case anyone was interested…
