Not sure if you’ve heard about what’s going on with Virgin Media in the UK, but every internet user needs to hear what it’s all about. (I stumbled this information the other day.)
The Virgin Media Scandal would affect the internet and how we access it, as we know it…
Watch this video to find out more about it!

Whoa…that’s crazy…always suspected, but I didn’t know for certain…this is serious infringement on our rights…It completely changes the internet…Might just as well watch TV instead…

My stumble friend, arabbitwhisperer, says:
“The whittling away of our rights is and has been a daily affair. The seat belt law is one of the largest robberies of our personal choice rights of late.”

My stumble friend, Whatever175, asks:
“What can we do to resolve this matter?”
Really…since we’re not in any “real” power, I guess we must just spread the word, change ISPs if they change their policies in conformity with this idea…We should be standing against this as a mass of people…
Whatever175: “True!….The only power we have as users of the Internet, collectively, is to unite with the only power we have, which is “knowledge”. As long as we can communicate various ideas and make wise choices, ISP’s will find out, “if they don’t know already”, is that they need us to survive.”
Agreed! Well said Whatever175! Thanks for sharing!!!

My stumble friend, Efflorescent, says:
“I gave this a thumbs up. They need to control our thoughts…just another brick in the wall. Don’t think I want to march around with a picket sign that say “No Virgin” though. ha ha”
LOL…I hear that…but I will certainly spread the word! I mean, there’s got to be a point where the majority of people can draw the line!

It’s a worry. Net neutrality is under attack in Europe and the US now.
My stumble bud, NedReck, says:
“Yes, I’ve read about it. The internet as we know it is probably not going to last.”
It’s certainly looking like that may be the case…Let’s spread the word and stick together to make a change for the better!!!

“EMI is doing the same thing against mp3tunes.com”
I’m about tired of being told what I can view and what I can listen to…uhhh!
cicil: “Especially when it belongs to you in the first place.”

“Omg I never knew this thanks for passing it on!”
Knowledge is power, and I just wanted to spread the word for others to see and act how they feel necessary regarding this situation…I’m glad people are taking notice! These are often fights that occur behind closed doors that the public isn’t privy to…I’m happy this one is exposed…

“Yes, I know about this I posted on my stumble blog a couple of weeks ago. Big business controls us I’m afraid.”
It’s the truth! A sad, sorry shame, but true!

“Thank god I dumped my Virgin mobile phone! So much for freedom of use via the Internet…..”
I have a Virgin Mobile phone and boy oh boy does it eat up minutes…LOL…(Of course it’s not me eating up the minutes, it’s the phone…lol) Charges are crazy too!!! I’m going to have to dump mine!!!

My stumble friend, quest86, thinks:
“I do believe that this could hurt Virgin a fair bit and all companies who partner with them, because they would be essentially be causing many of their potential customers who would have normally viewed their website to go to competitors who haven’t had their bandwidth restricted to specific users. Well, I would at least hope this would happen…”
I think this will happen…They’re shooting themselves in the foot, so to speak…Trying to make pennies, when they’re losing dollars!

I think the proper picket sign would read “%&@# Virgin”
My stumble friend, slantera, adds:
“That sucks….they’re talking monopolizing! “Join us or die.”"
How true is that? It is totally trying to monopolize and control! We’re being lead like sheep…uhhh!
slantera: “History repeats itself…..”

wow i did not realize that. i wos going to get virgin media soon, but now i wont
good job gusy!
This is seriously a mess. People don’t know about it.
Also – the choice to have the cleavage as the YouTube “freeze frame” is pretty lame.
The video could really use some editing. It has a nice revolutionary feel and everything – but we need to appeal to more people than underground folk.
In response to many of you that have had the question, “What can we do about it?”, I was stumbled a great video by Stariuss that explains what you can do, if you’re an American…
I hope this helps all of my American readers to get on board!

Spread the word, Net Neutrality should be written in stone.
This is a freakin’ huge deal. We have got to pay attention. This will damage the point of the Internet. The freedom. Your freedom.
Boycott Virgin Media Product Now!
Hey love thanks for posting this video.
It really helped to explain even more what’s really going on.

P.S. AND Spread The Word…
My stumble friend, Bill7Miller7, says:
“I am not aware of that one…. about to research it now…”
I am glad…Everyone needs to know what this is all about…in order to stop something like this from happening…

[...] I just watched the latest video regarding the Net Neutrality issue…(For background, check out my previous post: The Virgin Media Scandal Would Affect All Internet Users.) [...]
Total support for this cause from Peru.
My stumble friend, melchazidek, shares:
“Only one thing can destroy the internet but it IS NOT a PHONE company or a Hacker. Trust me. It would be eaiser to hit the Moon with a Bow and Arrow. HA ha. Just purchase a HIDE MY ISP or IOLO System Mechanic 7.”
Cogeco as a provider essentially does this already. Under the guise of protecting their network and violation of their AUP (acceptable use policy). Its more of an application based issue, but how I choose to use my 74.99$/month, 16mbit, 100gb/month account is my business as I paid for it. They get upset when I can download at 1.4megabytes per second from usenet I suppose, which makes no sense at all as to why they market a 16mbit connection if you cant use it. They have in fact more than once blocked entire IPs and domains and not simply by using deep packet inspection to throttle send speeds.
what else is new, corporations using their power to support their greed.
ISP’s would be cutting their own throats by attempting such a thing.
It would only take one ISP to throw a wrench in the works and dominate the market by not changing to this silly scheme, which then would mean a guaranteed in flux of new customers switching from those ISP’s that would of jumped on this silly bandwagon.
Good point Jeff! Great observation…
I hope that’s what happens if they decide to go through with this idiocity!
