Welcome to Dessert – “Soup to Nuts 3″ Progressive Dinner Blog Carnival

This is my very first blog carnival to actually host, and it has been rather fun!

Make sure you also check out…

Here goes:

First of all, It’s Important to Get Off on the Right FootCatalog Number A1, so to speak!

Hot Fudge Sundae MousepadSince this is Dessert, let’s talk about the Top Ten Tips – Having an Ice-Cream Sundae Party but you can’t be busy thinking about the 9 Hours, 37 Min, 45 Seconds & 1457 Calories…And contrary to popular belief, there are wines that go perfectly with dessert, like ice wines…Let’s just call them Rx Wine…LOL…Just what the Doctor ordered…

Secondly, if you joined the blog carnival in the hopes of Finding Your Cheese at the End of the Success Maze, you may also want to check out 10 Secrets to Business Success, Must Have SEO Wordpress Plugins + Search Engine Results, and the Fact Too Often Ignored.

Two 4It’s okay If You Can’t Be the Best at Something…, even if that is writing your resume…It may even be worth your while to look into Yaro Starak’s Super Virtual Resume and How To Get One…Problem solved!

Since this is a Progressive Dinner, many of the guests will spark up some pretty interesting conversations, many of them off the wall, including topics from a Bad Tax Idea: Getting Married without checking on the tax ramifications to How Tiger Woods Inspires My Parenting…LOL… For example:

Chocolate Heart Cake (20 oz)

If you’re a teacher, I’m sure you’re glad you’re not Grading Homework on Trivial History July 4 this summer, or else you might be Bugged and prone to saying Crap and Other 4 Letter Words, and then you’d have to figure out How To Deal With the Swear Jar…You’d be saying to yourself, “Are You Nuts?

In political and social matters, we find out what’s Debi’s View in Athens, Alabama, USA. With so many Cultural Blunders in Tele-Sales, we remember that sometimes the state of affairs brings us right back to the days of West “By God Race Mattered” Virginia and Avoiding the Worst! I mean they can always find out How to Use Online Translation Tools for assistance.

20 oz Grandmother's Carrot Cake

Some of the guests at the dinners may even resort to name dropping…”We had a Memorial Day Special – Remembering Todd Christopher Weaver…Do you know of him?”, or “Have you visited the Ellis Feiman House in Autumn? It’s truly divine!” or “Did you hear about How Jacob Cass Raised Over $5000 in Sponsorship and Other Lessons?”

They may even talk a little bit about their summer fun…”We Visited One of America’s Castles, what are you doing this summer?”…”Oh, we look forward to relaxing in The Wicker Chairs when the Dock Dogs Come to Sippo Lake Park…”

igourmet 27-oz. Menu Dessert Toppings, Frutti di Bosco (Wild Berries)

No doubt there will be some rants like Top Ten Tips – Public Restroom Etiquette or An Open Letter to Jeep and raves like The Quest for Uncle Eddie’s, The Best Vegan Cookies, Wherever They May Be, which will run right into a “convo” about vegetarianism, veganism and the Herbal Connection: Land of Plenty.

Without a question, come Dessert time, everyone always ends up talking about Love and Riches…There will be some Swerving Headlong into Memory Lane remembering Powersaw Poetry – A Toothsome Tale of Love, and “Oh, speaking of teeth, how do you feel about Dental Plans vs. Dental Insurance?

The Make Money From Home Blog

Today, I wanted to share with you one of our other websites, The Make Money From Home Blog.

So, I thought I would share a glimpse of the reason my husband and I created this site!

We hope you get a chance to check it out! This article was written by Kenney.

***

I grew up in a single family home. We were always penny pinchin’, we never had a car, never owned a house, and moved, at times, every year or every other year.

Don’t get me wrong, I love life! My mom and I made the best of what we had. In fact, we had a blast, but I swore that I would never live like that again and that when I made it, I would “share with the world” the quickest and fastest ways to make money from home.

I want to teach people how to Be their own boss, call their own shots, and make as much money as they believe they can.

This is what drives The Make Money From Home Blog. I know how hard it is out there…Trying to make ends meet and sometimes feeling like there is no hope.

…Searching to find some truth among all the bullcorn scams…Trying to find what really works, so you can get right to Continue Reading…

What if You Saved Pennies a Day?

We talked about Saving Energy cleaning just the other day in an earlier blog post:

What Lengths Will You Go To Saving Energy Cleaning

…But what else can you do to save your coins everyday?

Well, in our household, you only turn on the shower when you’re ready to get in…that’s for sure! Turn off the water when brushing your teeth until you need it.

Turn those lights OFF when leaving a room!

We use those “green bags” that breathe releasing the gases that cause our fruits and vegetables to rot, keeping them fresh longer.

The list can go on and on…It’s the “right thing to do” saving your money. Sometimes it is crucial!

Many people are saving their “pennies” now to roll for Debt help.

I know when we were in university, we were certainly saving and rolling our pennies for this reason – our Credit card debt!

Nowadays, with the high foreclosure rate and bankruptcies, no doubt people are in some serious need of Debt relief.

I was “stumbling” around online again today, when I saw this site, and thought that this site offers a lot of different opportunities to save money with your financial decisions.

Often times, a great place to start is with Debt consolidation. Places like Bills.com can do that for you and give you competitive rates to do so.

When you Consolidate debt, essentially you are allowing the company to go in and talk to all of your creditors and negotiate payments with them, then they roll your debt all into one current loan with a much more manageable monthly payment, only paying interest on 1 loan, not 3 or 5 or 10…

This saves you $$$!

If you’re not in debt, Bills IQ allows you to do bill pay online…meaning saving money on postage, envelopes, saving paper for the planet, and reducing the possibility that your payment may be received or opened late by that company…thus, resulting in a late payment and a late fee for you. This is also often reported to the credit agencies and works against your credit rating!

Anyway, I thought this was a good resource to help you continue in your quest to save money! Credit counseling may be necessary and BillsIQ provides that as well.

Save Your Money, but work towards not having to save it for your debts, but for something much more worthwhile!

My dad knew a man at work that saved up for vacations with his wife by taking bottles back to the store and getting the money for the deposits back…Pennies Add Up!

People Fainting at Eye Doctor’s Prices…

My mother had to go get new, updated glasses about 1 month ago now.

When we went in to get them at her eye doctor, I was astounded at the astronomical prices we were going to have to pay. I didn’t realize how much lenses and frames could be. Wow!

So, when I “stumbled” across this place online today, ZenniOptical.com, I was floored at the prices. They have some Incredible Stylish New Frames From Zenni that will not make your pocketbook faint.

I’m not sure what it is you need…I suppose you’ll need an eye exam, and then you’ll know your prescription before you order from here. However, it seems they have everything over here that they offer at the eye doctor, just at much cheaper prices.

Here’s the real kicker…They have Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses. Are you kidding? If you wanted to, you could get your eyeglasses from here for $8…That’s unheard of…I have heard of places you could get a pair for $100, even some specials where you could get 2 for that. But $8? Wow!

Literally, what we were looking at at the doctor’s office was well over $300, and the ones we really liked were over $400…I’m not kidding!

Whether it be Variable Dimension Frames From Zenni, or getting Photochromic lenses, they have it. Plus, you get the Anti-Scratch Coating, UV Protection, and Lense Edge Polishing & Beveling for Free.

When I saw this site, I wanted to share it with you, as I’m sure, if you wear glasses, you have been dismayed at the crazy prices you have seen at your eye doctor’s office too. I wish we would have seen this site beforehand.

However, I’m sure my mother will maybe buy a few other styles from here too, being that the prices are so much cheaper. Why not?

Ideas on the Memory of a Child

Food For Thought:

My husband and I were chatting over dinner tonight about how much we remember from being a child or a baby…What were our earliest memories…

…And we got on the topic of conversation that people don’t remember their infancy, for the most part…

On the contrary, we came to a conclusion…All of the things we were taught as a baby, we remember.

We are born into this world without a knowledge of anything. People start talking and fussing over you…You don’t know the language, you don’t know what to do…

…We have to learn everything.

So, to say that you don’t remember your infancy is preposterous, essentially…Everything we were taught as a child…how to talk, how to walk, how to eat, how to smile…everything, we remember to this day…

What Lengths Will You Go To Saving Energy Cleaning?

Seriously…I think we all realize, either for environmental purposes or financial purposes, that we need to reduce our energy use.

Energy Conservation has been a huge issue as of late, as many people speak of their carbon footprint…

What have you done to save energy? I’ll tell you a few things we’ve done, some that work, some that are okay, and some that seem silly…

Who doesn’t wait until the dishwasher can barely hold another mug, dish or spoon? Especially when trying to save money, and when you have a very busy household, it is important to conserve.

We always make sure our laundry loads are full, and we have succumbed to using cold water for all washes with special organic, cold water detergents.

Who hasn’t gone back to using the old broom and dust pan whenever they can? I know we have…especially on our tiled floors, but that just doesn’t seem to do it all the time…

The Advanced Robotic Vacuum With Wireless Command Center.Initially, we got a Roomba for my mother, as it can be difficult for her to vacuum the house with her arthritis. These little vacuums run all by themselves, can go under chairs and couches, bounce off walls, won’t go down stairs, and when they are out of charge, they go back to their charger. As we have a large house, we had that little Roomba running all day and all night, as soon as it would charge, it was out to work again. It lasted months, but then it just wouldn’t pick up as much dirt, and the charging times got a little longer. Apparently, the newer model works better…Will have to check into that for sure! Love this thing!

Instead of hauling out that huge, heavy vacuum every time there is a spill, why not call in the dogs…LOL…Actually, in our household, we have 5 little dogs, and you barely have to spill anything before they are happy to “lap it up” for you…LOL…Handy…

Then, there are Energy Star appliances and gadgets? Often, they save you a ton of energy consumption, meaning they save you money and the environment.

We have checked out the new Dirt Devil AccuCharge Stick Vac and Hand Vac. Apparently, they use 70% less energy…and this makes the AccuCharge the 1st cordless cleaning technology that has earned itself an Energy Star approval.

I’ve had a little Dirt Devil (like a dust buster) since I went to college, and we won’t talk about how long ago that’s been, but it still works and is in the front hall closet…The only thing is that you have to deal with a really long cord.

Well, I guess it might be worth a shot trying out the new Dirt Devil AccuCharge cordless vacuum. It will save the dogs from, well, “working like dogs“, and will save us energy and money!
