Okay, it’s been really bugging me lately hearing about all of those diet pills on the market, and not knowing what’s what.
I don’t use them, but like to be an informed person and be able to help anyone that has a question about it and wants to make an informed decision…
So, I did some research about them, as I thought they were ALL really bad for you, or didn’t work at all.
When I looked up information on Phentermine, I was pleasantly surprised to read that the FDA approved it way back in 1959, and it is still approved.
How Does it Work?
It is actually an appetite suppressor, by acting upon parts of the brain that stimulate adrenaline, etc. This puts the body in a fight-or-flight mode, thereby suppressing appetite for that time being.
It is recommended that you use it in conjunction with a change in diet and increased physical activity and exercise for the best results.
As with anything else, there are side effects and you should speak to your doctor before starting to take any new supplement or medication. People with high blood pressure or increased heart rate (tachycardia) should not use phentermine!
It is classified under amphetamines and phenethylamines, but is not an amphetamine
