If you haven’t yet heard already, my husband and I are taking on The 22 Month Retirement Challenge!

What Does That Mean?
That means on November 1st, 2011 at 12:00 am (when the clock strikes midnight), we’re retiring!

That’s the plan!

How?
I know that’s all you want to know right now!

We’re going to invest in quick-turn real estate to accomplish this.

Seriously…I know I’m a “chick”, but it sounds and looks like a lot of fun!

I’ve seen it when they are outside in a forested area paintballing…that looks cool!

My hubby’s never gone either, but he’s been laser tagging, before he knew me, but he hasn’t been back with me yet.

We have tried to go paintballing a few times, but then something else would come up and we’d be unable to make it.

Anyway, we’re really going to make a concerted effort to schedule it this year.

I’ve even been looking around at paintball equipment, and from what I can tell, Tippman guns (the A-5 and 98 Custom) seem to be the most popular, but Smart Parts and Spyder seems to be close behind.

What’s Your Opinion on paintball equipment? (So you can help give us a head start!) Leave a comment in the comment box below.

I think it would be a blast to play tactical paintball with a squad. I’m a pretty good shot and I think I could accel at this sport quickly…I know my hubby’s probably great at it, like he is at every sport! LOL…

I know I’ll definitely want my own paintball mask and maybe my own vest too! Not sure how it all works when you get to a paintball center.

Maybe even a paintball tournament could be in our plans this summer…??? Who knows! It sounds like a lot of fun though!

I wrote on this blog the other day about the television show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

Since it is in the front of my mind, I’ve been noticing more of the rehabilitation programs out there and wanted to tell you about Promises Treatment Center in Malibu or West Los Angeles.

I guess if you’re going to go into rehab, you might as well go where the weather is beautiful and sunny. It makes for a happier and more positive outlook when you have some sunshine!

We split time in the USA and Canada throughout the year, and honestly, I cannot believe the lack of recycling instituted in the USA.When I was in elementary school growing up in Canada, say, in the early 80s, we had a vigorous curbside recycling program that ran alongside our weekly garbage pickups, where we put our recyclables in a bin.

Now, we’ve lived in Texas, Louisiana and Iowa and it’s always the same thing…

You can recycle yourself by separating your recyclables into different bags, then you can bring it, yourself, to a recycling center.

Seriously? We’re still at this point? What part of DESTROYING our planet don’t we understand?

I just don’t get it! When we are in the USA, I fervently separate our recyclables and bring them in, simply because it is the right thing to do!

However, in a few suburbs/cities in Dallas, I have seen a few where they have some sort of recycling program. Kudos to you!

My mother visited California this past year, and it’s the same thing there…Throw everything away in the garbage!

What an unbelievable waste! What is going on?

Plus, instead of continuing to defragment all the time to compress files and give yourself more room for programs, documents and photos.

We got our laptops about 2 years ago now, and my husband already had to replace the memory…Uhhh!

Wow, there are some really talented people that came out of Kansas City auditions this year on American Idol! That’s for sure!

There were some serious duds too though. I just didn’t get the guy with the medal on from elementary school singing his “original” songs. I agreed with Simon though…the first song didn’t sound like a song a son would sing to his mother.

The poor guy with the cheerleaders. He wasn’t half bad, if he would have just cut down on his “theatrical” performance of the songs. I agree that the cheerleaders didn’t help, but they didn’t really hurt him either. They were just about to let him through to Hollywood, until Paula asked him to sing 10 more seconds of a song; that’s when he lost his golden ticket!

If you’re looking outside and have the winter blues, or you’re just way too stressed at your job, check this online game out.

It’s called MagNext Virtual, and you don’t have to be a kid to play it. Some of the “challenges” are pretty tough to even make an adult use their noggin and skills.

Basically, you’re a really cool magnetic marble on this crazy planet called MagNext. You move from “room” to “room”, more like city to city on this planet and you can participate in different games.

One room is a roller coaster you use logic to add the next piece to the track.

One room you challenge and accept challenges from other players to play a finger quickness game moving from piece to piece with the arrow they show you. It’s not as easy as it sounds…this was the toughest one to me.

This is my screenshot above in front of the Arena with a few other players waiting outside. I am the turtle-looking Christmas ornament…LOL!

In another room, you race a car and have to travel as far as you possibly can with accelerating arrows, decelerating arrows, obstacles and the like.

You pick up neat treasure bags that give you special powers, special paint jobs, or cool “accessories” like hats and other stuff to make your marble the coolest!

You play against other players that happen to be online too, and you can invite your friends online to play too.

There is the ability to instant message the other players in the game too.

So, if you’re in need of a little distraction and fun in your workday, try MagNext. I had fun. My hubby’s going to join so we can challenge each other in the “Arena”!
