How To Cook Chinese Herbs as Herbal Medicines

chineseaccupuncturemeridians.JPGMy mother and I both go to an acupuncturist, which works amazingly well on her arthritis inflammation. Our doctor often sends us home with miscellaneous concoctions of dried Chinese herbs in brown paper bags that she especially creates for us for whatever ailments we may have.

Right in front of us, she combines ingredients from 100s of jars of different herbs, spices and roots, etc. Super interesting just to watch her…

chinesemedicineconcoction.JPGYou are sometimes able to pick up pre-mixed pouches of Chinese herbal medicines from different Asian markets…

However, often times, there are either no instructions on how to prepare the herbs to be able to ingest them, or the instructions are in Chinese…Not very helpful to us who do not speak Chinese…LOL

Don’t fret…Here are step-by-step instructions for how to cook your Chinese herbs…

Instructions:
1. Empty the herbs into a deep saucepan.

* Tip: The best kind of container to use is ceramic. It is important that your saucepan has a lid. Materials to avoid include cast iron or metals. Stainless steel is better than the other metals, however.

2. Add enough water to… To read more of this post, Click Here!

Reduce the Range of your Wi-Fi Signal for Security

laptop.jpg Great tips to reduce the range of your Wi-Fi to include just your house, instead of providing your entire neighborhood with a great Wi-Fi signal at your expense and your security!

You will have to deal with your router to modify the signal. Every router is different even inter-brand, so you’ll have to root around in the router settings and see what you can find to reduce radio transmission power. It will most likely be under some type of advanced settings.

Problem is, internet signal strength is rather fickle; if you haven’t already learned that, you are very fortunate and likely have an amazing internet connection. But for the rest of us that often struggle with dropped transmission, we understand.

Changing any settings may upset your whole Continue Reading…

Phishing on Social Networking Sites - How To Protect Yourself On MySpace

It may have happened to you already…It has happened to me…(right on MySpace).

I just emailed a girl about one of her bulletins on MySpace, and she replied back to me saying that she did not post that bulletin. I gave her some immediate advice, from someone that has already been there…

1. MySpace does not really want to hear about it. They know it is out there, but they do give some instructions on what to do to fix the problem. What is done, is done now.

A. Change your password immediately (they don’t tell you this, but I will…Any other account you may have at a major “internet” zone, such as hotmail, yahoo, bank accounts, etc, etc, with the same login info (your email address and password) they will be able to access too if they are smart enough to go there. This is the advice MySpace gives out.

B. Go change the… To read more go to the post @ Social Networking Today.
