It’s amazing to me that just about every person I know has been touched by cancer, either from having it themselves or because a family member or close friend has had it.

The same is true with my family…My father had colon cancer in 1991, which recurred one more time a few years later. Then, in 2004, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma – an aggressive cancer that affects little children in their extremities.

My father passed away in 2006, and that same week, we found out my mother had breast cancer. Unbelievable.

It seems to be getting more and more prevalent. My aunt and uncle were diagnosed within a few weeks of each other about 2 months ago now too.

Leukemia, thyroid cancer, cancer of the pancreas, liver, bladder, stomach, and the list goes on.

How about from environmental and industrial factors like mesothelioma. The thing with this type of cancer is that you have some way to sue for damages.

Mesothelioma is linked to dealing with asbestos. Terrible, isn’t it?

If you have been affected by this type of cancer, you should try to find a Mesothelioma lawyer that specializes in this type of situation.

I have an HP Pavilion laptop and it has all the bells and whistles I could possibly want.

However, when I travel with my laptop bag, it seems to be more of a burden than a convenience.

It is so very heavy and bulky! I dread having to carry that, a backpack and my purse onto the plane. Getting from terminal to terminal is brutal with it strapped over your shoulder.

I need to look into netbooks for short trips when traveling.

They are quite a bit smaller, lighter, lower in cost and more energy efficient than laptops…

…and smaller means a smaller bag for it too! Yeah! It may even fit in my purse…

They are great if you need something to access email, instant messaging and internet browsing. Plus, they come with USB ports for all of your peripheral needs!

Might be a good fit for you too!

I love watching Kitchen Nightmares…

Not just because you can see how many restaurants are run, how clean they are, etc., but Gordon Ramsay is absolutely so blunt and honest that it’s all the things you’re thinking in your head, but wouldn’t want to say to keep from shocking everyone!

However, I have not seen Gordon lose his cool for no apparent reason.

I hate seeing all of those spammy emails coming up about all kinds of meds I don’t have any clue what they’re for.

Okay, on the night of election, we would get small news broadcasts in between the events.

I guess we were watching a Seattle station, where they were covering a story about a brand new casino opening up in the area.

The newscaster was asking the people, waiting in lines in their cars and in person to get in the casino on that opening night, whether the current economic crisis has deterred them from spending money gambling, or if it will in the near future.

They happened to ask a group of ladies that appeared to be in their 50s this question.

The one lady spoke up right away, and exclaimed that it hasn’t and will not deter her from gambling…She said, “Oh Honey, I’m on unemployment and won’t let it stop me!”

Every single time I travel by plane, I get so frustrated with the state of my luggage when it comes off the conveyor belt…

Honestly, I don’t know what happens to my perfect luggage when it leaves my sight, but it IS NOT A GOOD THING!

This past time, which was only the 2nd time to use my new luggage, they somehow broke the pulling handle, that was safely pushed into the luggage…not to mention the rest of the scrapes and dirt.

I just don’t get it…I couldn’t wreck it that quickly throwing it down my stairs at home!

Irregardless, I need something more sturdy, to counteract their abuse…So, I’ve been looking up aluminium suitcases and filtered it all down to the Rimowa suitcases.

They are touted to be really durable, made out of aluminium, are of high quality and are stylish to boot.

Aluminium is easy to clean, but it may get some dings on it…However, I think it would probably a little less noticeable than destroying fabric suitcases…

My problem is, I fall in love with beautiful colors and patterns on suitcases, that are all destroyed after a few uses through an airport.

I think the Rimowa suitcases may serve me well with as much traveling as I have to do so often.

Okay, truth be told, I’ve never been to vegas! Seriously…

Everyone’s been there, but me, it seems, and my husband.

We are definitely planning a trip for this new year! Now, we’ve been to casinos here in the Niagara Falls area, and aren’t “crazy” to gamble…

…But we’d love to see some fabulous shows, eat some fabulous food and break out the bling for a week or so…LOL

We’d even love to do some sight-seeing and great outdoor sporting activities!!!!!!!!

What Makes Me Say This?
I guess I’m ranting a bit, but for good reason, especially since winter is my least favorite season.

We had an especially cool and rainy summer. We didn’t really get our fill of sunshine and heat!

Now, the days are getting shorter and shorter. Uhhh! Today, it got dark at 6:30 pm here in Niagara Falls. NOT COOL! Daylight Savings Time will be happening here in just a bit, fall back remember; that means we get an extra hour of sleep though.

It’s already much cooler, getting down to around 7 degrees at night! Uhhh!

We have already started allowing our dogs to grow their coats out in preparation for the winter. They look so cute!

I’m cleaning up leaves, branches and acorns. I’m cutting some of our overgrown bushes back, and fertilizing our evergreens, as they are looking a little brown in places. Plants are being brought in to be saved over winter, and I’m collecting bulbs to plant already.

Fall and winter fashion can be fun, however, and I like this part. It’s fun to layer cool styles! Be sure to check out some of my favorite trends of the season @ Through the Eyes of Kimberly Edwards.

Chances are, if you are wanting to build a fence as high as you can, you’ll be looking for the city ordinances or bylaws to find out the maximum height of the fence.

…And chances are, if you’re looking to build the highest fence possible, there is a reason!

* Tip: If you’re already looking up the bylaws online for the maximum height of the fence you want to build, print it off while your there…

Why?

Because, if the reason for your high fence is your neighbor, they’ll be trying to be as difficult as possible and you want to know your rights.

Have the bylaws you printed up, and highlight the pertinent section so that you can pull it out whenever there is a problem!
