This is an AWESOME tip! I love this! I am always concerned about the germs and bacteria on things, especially my toothbrush!
Since it’s a moist surface for gross germs and bacteria to attach themselves to, especially since it’s sitting out in the open air, you MUST sterilize it before you use it!
Okay, maybe you don’t have to do it every time, but at least twice per week, you should put your toothbrush in the microwave on high for 10 seconds to kill all of those “baddies”!
If you’re sick with a cold or the flu, you can blast the germs in the microwave every time, and be sure when you zap them, you do it immediately before use to be most effective!
Also, be sure to throw out your old toothbrush and start using a new one at least every 3-4 months…By that time, the bristles have worn out to the point that they no longer remove plaque anyway!
If you’ve been sick, as soon as you feel you are better, you should chuck that old brush away anyway and start using a new one too…You don’t want to re-catch that illness back again from your own germs on your toothbrush. Yuk!
I used to use a great spray that you’d spray on it and rinse right before use, but they discontinued it, and I’m not sure what it was that the active ingredient was…maybe peroxide, baking soda, alcohol???
If you try to boil your toothbrush, as people used to do, they new materials “melt” and change shape, ruining the bristles too…Don’t do this if you like your toothbrush at all…LOL!
So, be kind to your mouth and teeth and sterilize your brush!

P.S. Gum Toothbrushes are my very favorite! For some reason, they make your gums feel good when you brush…I know it sounds strange, but try them out for yourself!
