If you don’t want to buy pesticides or dangerous insect killers for your yard, try this method when trying to get rid of ants.
This is the “old school” way that your grandparents may remember.
If you put a trail of cornmeal and sugar mixed together leading out of your home, the ants will come and eat the cornmeal.
Well, cornmeal simply is not digestible for ants.
So, they eat it, or bring it to their queen in their ant hills and she eats it. She and the other ants cannot digest the grains of cornmeal, so they naturally die.
When I see ant hills around the yard, I simply sprinkle them with cornmeal. The hills are inactive by the next day!
The thing is, we are no longer allowed to use Pesticides or Herbicides in Ontario anymore!
Simple, inexpensive, environmentally safe!
